Enjoy Uganda's utmost adventure from the magnificent Murchison
falls, chimp tracking in Kibaale National Park, Best Game drives in
Queen Elizabeth National Park to the endangered Mountain Gorilla in
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and more Game at Lake Mburo National
park.
Day 1: Arrival
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by TATS
team to transfer to your Accommodation, Your Driver/guide will
advise you on where to change your money and in case of any local
purchases for the Safari.
Day 2: Kampala- Murchison Falls
Start the journey from the most beautiful area in Uganda: Murchison
Falls National Park. Upon arrival in the national park in the
afternoon, we will visit the magnificent Top of the Falls where you
can marvel at the mighty Nile. Dinner and overnight at Red Chilli
Rest Camp / Sambiya River Lodge or Paara Lodge.
Day 3: Game Viewing and Boat Cruise
After an early morning Breakfast we start the day with a game Drive
on the Northern Bank of the Nile, with chances of seeing Giraffes,
Elephants, Lions, Hartbeests, Leopard and different bird species.
In the afternoon the Safari will continue with a Boat Cruise on the
River Nile for Game Viewing at close quarters, here you will see the
Mighty crocodiles, Hippopotamus and many water birds. Return in the
evening for Dinner at your accommodation.
Day 4: Murchison Falls to Fort Portal
We depart after breakfast head towards Fort Portal, through Hoima
Town with stunning views of small homesteads and Local Markets. Fort
portal rests in the shadow of the Fabled “Mountains of the moon” and
its famous for the ever green lashing Tea Plantations and also known
as the Crater Lake region. Overnight at Chimpanzee Forest Guest
house, a former colonial Tea Plantation with stunning morning views
of Kibaale Forest/ Ndali Lodge for up-market accommodation or
Primate Lodge within the Park.
Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking
After Breakfast report to the Park Headquarters for Briefing as the
forest opens its doors for a sensational chimp tracking. Kibale
Forest is reputable of having the greatest variety and highest
concentration of primates in East Africa. Enjoy a guided nature walk
in the tropical rainforest in search of the wild chimpanzee,
red-tailed monkey, black-and-white colobus monkey and many others.
After a hearty lunch we transfer to the Bigodi Swamp for another,
totally different nature walk. The Bigodi Swamp Walk is an
initiative of the local community and is known for its rich
diversity of birds and primates. Return to your accommodation for
dinner.
Day 6: Explore the Crater Lake Region
After breakfast we head off for an exploration of the crater lakes.
Enjoy the beauty of the numerous small lakes, surrounded by gentle
hills, and the stunning views on the “Top of the world”. Take a hike
at Lake Nkuruba to encounter different species of primates and
birds, and visit the Mahoma Falls.
Meet the local people as you walk through their villages, learn
about the customs of the Batoro tribe and enjoy the panoramic views
of the Rwenzoris. Return to your accommodation for dinner.
Day 7: Kibaale to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
After an early breakfast we start journey further west with a day
hike of the majestic Rwenzoris as we learn and explorer the local
culture, enjoy a local made meal and proceed to Queen Elizabeth
National Park Overnight at Ishasha wilderness Camp/Mweya Safari
Lodge.
Day 8: Game Viewing and Boat Cruise
Early Morning Breakfast and for game drive and head for the mating
ground of the Uganda Kobs. A search for the tree climbing Lions,
elephants, buffaloes, if luck the Leopard and many bird species.
Return to your accommodation for Lunch/ or a packed lunch will have
been provided in the morning. In the afternoon we proceed for a boat
cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a natural link between Lake Edward
and Lake George. Enjoy abundant birdlife such as such as African
Fish eagle, Grey headed king fisher, Swamp flycatcher, Grey capped
Warbler, Red chested sunbird, Black-headed gonolek, Great White and
Pink backed Pelican, Great and long tailed Cormorants, Common Squaco
Heron, African open billed stock, Malachite and Pied kingfishers,
Black crake, swamp fly catcher among others and the hundreds of
hippos that are cooling off at the shores, this cruise will
definitely be one of the highlights of your safari. Return to your
accommodation at 5:00pm and enjoy beautiful sunset.
Day9: Queen Elizabeth to Buhoma (Bwindi Impenetrable Forest)
After breakfast we will take you for a walk through the Maramagambo
Forest, known for the Blue Lake and the Bat and Hunters Cave. You
will get the chance to have a close look at the bats and maybe even
the rock python and forest cobras that feed on the bats. The same
walk will provide you with views of different bird species, primates
and trees. In the afternoon depart for Bwindi National Park, home of
the endangered mountain gorillas. Dinner and overnight at Buhoma
Lodge or Buhoma Community Bandas.
Day 10: Gorilla Tracking
After breakfast proceed for Briefing at 7:30am before heading out
with the Park ranger Guides for spectacular encounter with the
gentle giants of Bwindi! Especially hikers will love the tracking in
the beautiful ecosystem of the park. Expect to walk a long distance
in steep and muddy conditions, sometimes with rain overhead, before
you encounter any gorillas. But it will definitely be worthwhile as
you observe them closely while they eat, play and rest. A unique and
unforgettable experience!
Those who prefer not to participate in the gorilla tracking can go
for a guided forest walk or explore the surroundings with the Buhoma
Village Walk. Dinner and overnight at Buhoma Lodge / Bwindi View
Community Bandas.
Day 11: Lake Bunyonyi
After Breakfast we depart for Lake Bunyonyi the deepest Lake in
Africa-locally known as the lake of many birds. This is time for
pure relaxation, take a cool swim or go for a canoe trip while
watching beautiful sunset over the rolling hills of Kabale.
Overnight at Lake Bunyonyi Overland Camp or Bushara island.
Day12: Lake Mburo
In the morning we leave the beautiful lake behind us and continue to
the east, towards Mbarara. A beautiful route will take you to the
hidden, rural farm of Nshenyi. Enjoy the rolling countryside of the
Ankole Kingdom and experience the traditional way of living with
stops at local Markets, will have a Lunch stop at Agip Motel to
enjoy Ugandan Buffet before proceeding to Lake Mburo National Park
and enjoy Boat trip on Lake Mburo, you will have a chance to see the
Africa fin foot one of the rarest birds only found here, Pelicans,
Black Crake, Heron, Fish Eagle Cormorant and you may also see the
rate Shoebill Stork. Overnight Mihingo Lodge or Rwoyo Rest Camp.
Day 13: Lake Mburo to Jinja the Source of the Nile
After an early Breakfast, take on a morning game drive. Lake Mburo
National Park is a very special place; every part of it is alive and
contians an extensive wetland. You are likely to see Eland, Impalas,
Waterbucks, warthogs, Topis and Zebras. We proceed towards Masaka
with a Toilet Break at the Equator then proceed directly to Jinja.
Overnight at Nile Porch/The Haven
Day 14:Raft the Nile
Ready for a full day of adventure? Then start rafting at the Source
of the Nile! Early morning After receiving some instructions, you
will start peddling and enjoy the beautiful scenery and thundering
rapids at its fullest! And don’t forget to watch the incredible
birdlife as you drift quietly between the
rapids of the river.
Those who do not wish to go for rafting can choose for a calm boat
ride at the Source of the Nile or kayaking on the Nile. Overnight
and Dinner at the Nile Porch/The Haven.
Day 15: Jinja to Kampala
Visit the Source of the Nile after breakfast before proceeding to
Mabira Forest for Guided Nature Walk and Visit to Sezimbwa Falls
before heading to Kampala and your accommodation in Entebbe. The
Boma Guest House / Entebbe Travelers Inn/ Gately Inn / Entebbe
Airport Guest House.
Day 16: Departure
Depending on the time of your flight, day of relaxation in Entebbe
can be organized before transfer to the Airport
